Happy, happy, hell in that they (2017)
Happy, happy, hell in that they was written for the New York based quartet Loadbang, for a concert in Reykjavík in November 2017 and in New York in January 2018.
The piece is essentially a deconstruction of John Dowland’s song Flow my Tears, where the song’s lyrics are presented in a disjointed, often alphabetised manner. Sometimes the source material appears as tiny snippets of an arrangement I made of the song, but other times only the individual words of Dowland’s lyrics are salvaged.
