From My Green Karlstad was written in late 2017. I was suffering from an unusually stubborn influenza for a large portion of the time it took to write the piece. The title of the piece is therefore a reference to that it was to a large extent written from under a blanket in my green Ikea sofa.
The piece was commissioned by Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra for a joint concert with the RCO and Elblag Chamber Orchestra on Dark Music Days 2018. The piece was also written with support from Tónskáldasjóður RÚV.
